How many tables needed? urgent plz?

A Manager of CNG station is interested to design a database to accommodate all CNG relevant information. He wants to keep the record of all vehicles, regular customers and all transaction relevant to customer and suppliers. Moreover manager is interested to generate different report relevant to see information about daily weekly or monthly sale and profit record. On some occasion manager of CNG station offer different sale discounts, so he is also interested to keep the record of all discounts. Similarly, manager also using monthly billing system for some type of regular customers.
Q1. How many tables needed.
Q2. design tables.(optional for you viewer :P )


I would say at least 5 tables
Vehicles (one customer can have more than one vehicle)
Services (To have actual service provided with Customer id, supply id, vehicle id, billing id, etc)

And you can add
Billings (to have bills, with Costumer Id, amount, service id, discount id, etc)

Database records exported to Excel CSV encode language characters?

I have database records that use different language characters (European languages mostly). When exported to Excel file, CSV to be exact, these characters are come through as encoded. I have an example here, characters "zlw" output as "zlw". I tried "charset=UTF-8", "charset=ISO-8859-1" and nothing. Any ideas?


You might need several attempts
- Copy the CSV file, in case you messed it up
- Open the CSV file in NotePad (Open NotePad, drag the file to it.)
- Do "Save As", now what is the suggested format of the file?
- I recommend importing the file in Excel instead of open it
- In both cases, use the same format used in Notepad

I faced issues like that when I work with Arabic/Hebrew chars, and these steps usually work it out

If not, then pay attention to the format when you export the data from the database, most database applications give you the ability to choose the format when export

MS Office 07 Excel/Access question 10 pts best (right!~)answer?

how do you LINK (not import) an excel worksheet to an Access Database that is already in existence (this database was created by importing data from a separate excel worksheet). I'm stumped! Will award 10 pts best answer! :-)


When you open Access, and create your database
Go to External Data > Excel
And in the wizard, select the third option (Link to the data ...)

This will create a table that is linked to the Excel spreadsheet.

Where can I find the file WD H-4.mdb?


It is Microsoft Access database file, did you try to google it?

Just search for that full file name in Google or yahoo
